After months and months of being asked when my boy’s book is going to arrive, it is finally here! Released on Father’s Day, 18th June, My Daddy Does is a simple story with an affectionate message that celebrates the admiration young boys have for their fathers, and the special bond they share.
In today’s society, especially within the black community, we focus so much on absent fathers, and those that don’t live up to their responsibilities. I wanted to pay homage to those fathers that DO, those fathers that are present and active, and those fathers that don’t always get the acknowledgement that they deserve.
I really wanted to do a launch event for this book but, unfortunately, was unable to do one. I do plan to do something in the next couple of months, though, so stay tuned!
